Stephanie Donaldson

Stephanie is the Executive Director of Business Resources at National Museums Liverpool. Her role is to ensure that sound governance and financial information and advice are given to the Director, Board of Trustees and Executive Leadership Team. This includes development of budgets, forecasts, annual reports and accounts as well as the strategic plan. She is also responsible for HR (people), Estates (including Health & Safety) and Information Systems.

Stephanie joined NML in May 2020 from the Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA). She was both a Deputy Director of GIAA and Head of Internal Audit for the Cabinet Office, HM Treasury and National Savings & Investments (NS&I) and led a team of Internal Auditors who delivered internal audit services to sixteen customers across the Centre of Government. Prior to joining the Civil Service, Stephanie was the Head of Internal Audit at Merseytravel and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority.
A chartered accountant with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountancy (CIPFA),

Stephanie is currently CIPFA North West Region President. She recently stepped down as chair of the CIPFA TIS (Technical Information Service) Editorial Board for Internal Audit and is a member of the CIPFA Diversity & Inclusion Working Group.

She has a degree in the History of Art from the University of Edinburgh.
