Five experts join 2020 independent judging panel

Several additions to the independent judging panel of the next Yorkshire Accountancy Awards have been confirmed.

Tricia Coates, Les Bradley, Mark Protherough, Richard Wild and Dr James Callaghan have joined the independent judging panel, which will convene shortly after the entry deadline on 6 March 2020 to decide next year’s winners.

Each judge was chosen for their years of experience and expertise, as well as their positions at accountancy, finance and business organisations such as the Association of International Accountants, British Accounting and Finance Association, The Chartered Institute of Taxation, Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

More members of the independent judging panel will be confirmed soon.

Tricia Coates, ACCA

Tricia is an experienced finance professional with over 25 years of experience in the financial services sector in predominantly in the City of London. Coming from an IT background, she has been involved in a number of highly complex, global transformation programmes.

Dr James Callaghan, ICAEW

James works to raise the profile of ICAEW with members and key external stakeholders and to support members in their careers. He manages and oversees the work of the regional staff ensuring that local members receive professional career support through local district societies and connected communities.

Richard Wild, CIOT

Richard is the head of the tax technical team at The Chartered Institute of Taxation. His tax career has spanned over 20 years, mainly in indirect taxes, including roles in a Big 4 litigation team, and as an anti-avoidance adviser with HMRC.

Mark Protherough, BAFA

Mark is chair of the board of trustees of the British Accounting and Finance Association, as well as executive director for learning and professional development for the ICAEW and a member of the ICAEW board.

Les Bradley, AIA

Les runs a busy accountancy practice with a varied client portfolio. He has accumulated a vast amount of knowledge of accountancy, taxation and business advisory services, working with enterprises of different sizes and sectors. Les has always been an active member of AIA.
