Professor John Cullen is immediate past Chair of the Trustees of the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and was BAFA President for the period 2014 to 2016. He continues as a Trustee. BAFA is the learned society for accounting and finance academics in the UK and attracts members from across the globe. An important part of BAFA’s strategy is to actively engage with all of the accountancy professional bodies in the UK. He is Professor of Management Accounting at Sheffield University Management School. Before entering academia, John held senior roles in industry both as a Financial Controller and a Commercial Manager. His research is practice based and he therefore actively engages with firms across a range of different sectors. He has served professional bodies on committees as well as receiving funding for his research activities.
